In vivo assessment of pharmacological potentials of different fractions of Fagonia olivieri DC

Introduction: Hemostasis mechanism involves blood coagulation as one of the step which is responsible for clot formation that restricts flow at site injury. By inhibiting cascade and reducing thrombus formation, several cardiovascular diseases (CVD) atherosclerosis can be prevented. Traditionally, Fagonia olivieri (zygophyllaceae) reported in treatment diabetes, coughs, purifier, cooling agent, vascular diseases, digestive system disorders cancer initial stages. Objectives: Different fractions F. methanolic extract were evaluated this study their anticoagulatory, anti-inflammatory antidepressant potentials. Methodology: Anticoagulatory, potentials ethyl acetate, butanol aqueous extracts assessed using capillary tube experiment, carrageenan induced paw edema test forced swim respectively. Results: The results investigation have revealed acetate possess significant anticoagulatory compared to control (P=0.0002). Butanol showed highest activity. Maximum anti-depressant activity was shown by followed n-butanol extracts. Conclusion: Hence, it concluded exhibits justifies its use various particularly diseases.
